Tori no Hoshi: Aerial Planet

Description

Hugo Ramanski, son of a famous researcher, has come to a planet 3000 light years from Earth called Conius Blue. However, after a spaceship crash, he winds up stranded on the opposite side of the planet from the research station. With nothing but a powered glider and his own wits, Hugo must find a way to survive until he can find a way back to the station. Of course, he'll have a little help from the planet's natives -- innumerable species of migratory birds -- if he can earn their trust.
